I was looking at ebay while packing.  I will be in Hong Kong for the next 10 days both exhibiting very rare coins, presenting material during educational sessions and giving private showings of these really rare and some never seen before coins.  I am also participating in the Champion Auctions on both December 2nd and December 5th.  This will be a great event combining a coin show with two great auctions while having educational seminars.   

While packing, I noticed a seller advertising a 5 oz Silver Peacock for $15,000.  This is a ridiculous price.  The same seller is offering only one piece from the 1992 Platinum Invention & Discovery five coin set for over $30,000.  Once again, this price is way out of line.  For those of you who are regular readers, this is a perfect example of a seller going fishing. 

For the first time readers, going fishing is listing coins at ridiculous prices.  When someone seems interested, the seller will offer a deep discount.  The person purchasing thinks they are getting a great deal when really they are still way overpaying.  This type of selling, in my opinion, is wrong!!!
