Tomorrow (Sunday) is a big day for Modern Chinese coins as Champion Auction is taking many Power Coins to the auction block. 

Yes, there are many 5 oz and 12 oz Gold Lunar coins.  These have mintages of 99 or less.

Yes, there are many Authenticated, Graded and Encapsulated coins from NGC. 

Yes, there are both the 1982 10 oz and 1990 15 oz Gold Vault Protectors.  I estimate a very small survival rate for the 1982.

Yes, there is a 20 oz Gold Peacock in Proof 69 Ultra Cameo.

All of the coins mentioned above are fantastic coins.  Now I will mention three true Power Coins that are fantasy coins.  Coins people dream about seeing let alone to own.  What do these three coins have in common?  They are all Gold Kilos, they are all low mintage and they are almost never seen, especially of the high quality being offered in this auction.  

1992 Invention & Discovery Gold Kilo Compass.  Mintage of 10 or less.  This is a very important Gold Kilo and one of my favorites.   My estimate is a hammer price of $825,000 + BP 

1992 Lunar Completion Gold Kilo.  This has a mintage of about 19 pieces.  This has surfaced many times, each time yielding a higher price.  My estimate is a hammer price of $575,000 + BP 

1995 Return To Taiwan Gold Kilo.  Planned mintage of 25 but only about 10-12 are known to exist.  This is the finest example seen in the last 10 years.  This is the most stunning Gold Kilo when when viewed in person.  This is another one of my favorites due to the extremely low mintage and the beauty of the details.  My estimate is a hammer price of $625,000 + BP 

These Gold Kilos are nothing short of phenomenal.  I can't wait to write my blog about the prices realized for these amazing pieces that have such low mintages and survival rates.
