In my opinion, the Champion Auction had very mixed results.  I can say this because I was at this auction from start to finish.  I viewed the lots and the catalog.  Some coins broke records while other coins did not sell.  I think this is the result of market conditions for common coins and a reflection of the over-all world economy.  

There are many distractions in the news every day.  Too many distractions - The European issues, US unemployment, housing markets and weak economy, China's currency valuation, fighting and political elections throughout the world, etc...... 

I think these distractions are holding back the coin market and business in general.  The economy will continue to move sideways until some of these distractions are more settled.  If one or two of these variables were no longer an issue, the landscape would be much different.  Since we are long-term players, we use these situations for buying opportunities.
