In previous blogs, the importance of exchanging information and good communication is stressed.  Without this, Modern Chinese coins would not be at the levels they are today.  It was not long ago these coins were not appreciated.  The low prices were consistent with the lack of demand.  The reason for the change is education and respect.  Everyone is beginning to understand the cultural and historical significance of each coin.  This has caused many new collectors and investors to enter this area of numismatics.  Many of the rare coins and medals are being taken off the market by people who want to keep these important coins (like Majestic Rarities.)  This affect will continue to cause price increases as we have seen for the past 5 years, especially in the past few months.  Everyone is scrambling to purchase Modern Chinese coins.  This is basic supply and demand.  As the demand increases and the supply decreases, you can bet the prices will also increase. 

The power of information can't be overstated.  This is why these educational forums are so important.  This is why we were so happy to be part of this with Michael Chou.  Some of the most knowledgeable people are in this room discussing the past, the present and the future for Modern Chinese coins.  We feel the more people know and understand, the more they will want to collect these coins.
