I have mixed emotions about the show.  A lot of excitement with auctions and the anticipation of the show.  Many great coins were seen and offered.  I enjoyed viewing auction lots.  It's not often a person gets a chance to see so many coins up close and examine all at one time.  This is the best way to learn about each type of coin.

The show was crowded with a lot of people and a lot of buying.  There were not many people selling Modern Chinese coins.  Almost everyone was there to purchase, not sell.  This tells you about the strength of this market.  The people selling had a captive audience and could charge whatever they wanted.  New, higher price levels have been established.  This is great information to know. 

All rooms were filled, many of them with watches.  This seemed more like a watch show with a lot of coin dealers and collectors attending.  This part was disappointing.  I would have like to see more coins on the bourse floor as in the past.  I think the auctions have stole the coin portion of the show.

It was great to see and get together with many of the people I communicate with regularly through the internet.  I had the pleasure of having lunch with a very important collector, Mr. Wang Wang.  He gave me his opinion about the market and psychological aspects.  I learned of coins with much lower mintages than the published figures.  This was really interesting and great to hear.  Learning is the key to success.  Mr. Wang Wang really has the pulse of the market.
