I have received many comments about this blog.  It is incredible to read and listen to all of the bad stories people wanted to share.  Not receiving the coins they purchased, not recieving the proper quality of coins represented, not being allowed to return coins they were not happy, not being issued refunds in a timely fashion, etc....  There was one common thread between almost everyone who called or emailed - EBAY.

My best advice is to work with a dealer who is reputable and well known.  A real dealer.  A dealer who is active in the numismatic community.  Not some person with some coins to sell so they list on ebay.  A dealer who specializes in the area you are interested.  A dealer who travels to shows, sets up at shows, makes the news in Coin World or other numismatic publication, a person who owns their inventory, is the leader in their field, member of associations like the PNG ( Professional Numismatists Guild ) and authorized dealers with NGC and PCGS.  Verify their information. 

If you choose to make a purchase because you thought you were getting a great deal, think again.  

I tell everyone, a great deal is the opportunity to purchase a great coin at a fair price.  If you are purchasing way under the market value, you can bet there is something wrong.  Don't be a victim.
