The ANA Coin Show, the largest coin show held in the US, completed about 9 days of pre show and actual show.  The general consensus is this was a great show for the majority of dealers attending.  Some dealers made the comment this was one of the best shows of their career.  Besides having the largest bourse floor of any prior ANA, this had the most dealers and visitors.  The attendance was strong and steady for each of the days.  The ANA did a great job communicating to the public. 

This is a clear indication of the strength for rare coins.  We specialize in Modern Chinese Coins and Error Coins.  Both segments were in high demand.  US coins were high in demand.  Everything seems as if they were high in demand.  I am going to write about the 1975 no S dime that was sold by Stacks in auction for over $300,000 in a separate blog. 

There are more and more people entering the Modern Chinese Coin Market from both the dealer and collector side.  Everyone I talked with selling Modern Chinese coins said they had tremendous sales.  This is another strong indication of the demand for these coins.  There were several people who traveled from Shanghai to attend this show.   

Our goal is always to have a great show - we did.  We do not judge this by the amount of sales but the amount of fun and activity.  When I tell you we had fun and there was lots of activity, it was crazy for us.  We were interviewed on camera three separate times, not to mention interviews not on camera.  We were the only dealers with an inventory of large, rare and authenticated Modern Chinese Coins in all of our cases. 

We do not have the typical inventory.  Setting up at a show is always a great venue to display our very rare and seldomly seen coins.  We had at least four coins that many people have seen pictures but have never seen the actual coin.  We wanted everyone to see the huge collection we have been fortunate enough to accumulate.  This was accomplished due to the fact we pay the highest amount to acquire the coins we want. 

Pictures will be posted so you can see some of our cases and our large space.  We had one of the largest spaces and also the most unique space to conduct business in a user friendly environment.  Since we own other companies, we do not treat these shows in the typical coin fashion.  We pride ourselves in being different in the way we work with each person and the inventory we choose to purchase.  We are not ordinary and strive to set the curve for others to follow. 

You have a choice when purchasing and selling.  You should work with the leaders, not some person who has decided to jump into a hot market.
