HAPPY THANKSGIVING and thank you for taking the time to visit.  Many people tell me prices they can purchase rare coins.  They want to tell me about market pricing and the prices other people are selling rare coins.  I always ask, "how do you know this price."  They usually tell me a friend of theirs or someone told them how much they should pay.  (This is my favorite part of the conversation.)  I ask the person, "why didn't you purchase from this seller."  The response is usually, "this person doesn't own the coin, they just told me the price to pay."  I get a bit cynical at this point and ask "how does a person who does not own the coin or possibly has ever owned this rare coin be able to tell you the price?"  There is usually silence.  I ask why doesn't the person who is giving you this pricing information go and find the coin for you and sell it to you at the price they are quoting?  The answer is simple, they are incorrect, their pricing is wrong and they do not know the value.  

The lesson learned is to always get a quote from people who have the coin or who have handled the coin recently.  You will buy more great coins and not have to chase and talk about the coins you wished you purchased.  Contact us, we own or have owned almost every great Modern Chinese and Error coin.  If we do not know the answer, we will tell you.
