It seems all Unicorns, better-date Pandas and all Peacocks are doing very well.  Unicorns, Peacocks as well as several other coins were mentioned in a previous blog as coins that should be in every collection.     

It doesn't matter which Unicorns; Silver, Gold or Platinum; fractionals, 1 oz, 5 oz, 12 oz or 20 oz coins. They are all in such great demand.  Unicorns have been going crazy with higher prices for all graded 69 coins.  It seems the 1 oz Gold coins are on fire.  These are coins with low mintages, made of Gold, great design and are very popular. The new price levels seem to be:

1994 - $14,000+
1995 - $20,000
1996 - $13,000

Better-date Pandas in both Gold and Silver have really increased.  The 1998 large date sets keep increasing beyond belief.  I heard of these sets selling in the mid $30,000 range.  It was not long ago that these sets were $12,000. 

The 1995 and 1996 Proof Gold Pandas have also been skyrocketing.  It is not uncommon to have these coins in Proof 69 Ultra Cameo sell for:

1995 - $20,000+
1996 - $18,000+
I was offered a pair of these for $41,000.  The prices keep increasing so fast.  These are my favorite Gold 1 oz Pandas.  I try to purchase whenever possible.  It is important to know and understand the distribution pattern of Modern Chinese coins.  This is a long story for a future blog. 

Panda Silver Kilos are continuing to move up, especially the 2002 Anniversary issue.  What is ironic is this Silver Panda Kilo has the highest mintage of all Silver Panda Kilos.    

Peacocks have always been hot with no sign of slowing down.  I was shocked to hear that the 1 oz Silver is selling towards the $1000 range in Proof 69 Ultra Cameo while its 1 oz Gold counterpart is selling in the $23,000 range in Proof 69 Ultra Cameo.  A 20 oz Gold Peacock just sold for $322,000 in auction.  This was graded as Proof 68 Ultra Cameo.  This is such a great series.
